About the Book
Nobody’s Heroes is a raw, character-driven novel set in Coventry’s Irish community. It explores addiction, recovery, and resilience through flawed but deeply human characters. Blending dark humour with heartbreak, it shines a light on ordinary people fighting to put their lives back together.
The Story
Tony, a recovering alcoholic haunted by guilt, has spent years trying to stay sober and keep others afloat. Damien, older and broken by secrets he’s never shared, carries the weight of something unspeakable. Around them, a support group of misfits — mothers, sons, friends, and strangers — grapple with grief, relapse, forgiveness, and the daily fight to carry on.
This is not a story of saints or sinners, but of people doing their best when life has given them the worst.

Why I Wrote It
I wanted to capture the voices and stories of Coventry’s Irish community — people defined not by perfection, but by perseverance. Nobody’s Heroes is rooted in honesty and lived experience: a story of those who fall, get back up, and try again.
Format
Contemporary novel with ensemble cast
Adapted from my original TV drama script
Grounded, character-driven, and authentic
What’s Next
The novel is part of a wider project, alongside the TV drama adaptation. My aim is to bring these characters to life on the page — and eventually on screen.
